Comments:
Pulsars are the rotating cores of long dead stars
that destroyed
themselves as supernovae. A supernova occurs
when a massive star exhausts its nuclear fuel
supply and explosively ejects most of the stellar
gas into the surrounding space. The resulting
pulsar emits a beam of radio
energy which sweeps across the earth leading
to a lighthouse effect every
0.7 seconds. This resembles a heartbeat of 80
beats per minute.
