One of the aims of the series is to encourage you to take a fresh look at some of the science that's going on around you, and to give you a better appreciation of the scientific principles behind what you see. If watching the series has whetted your appetite, you might like to consider learning more about science through Open University science courses.

"Being dyslexic, one of best learning experiences was realising that with a little help I could write essays. Another, was at summer school where I not only finished a synthesis of a compound but also did the extra work as well"
Janet, OU Science Student

Courses have been produced to cater for people with a variety of academic experience and aspirations. Whether you wish to follow a specified route for a particular qualification, or to sample several different areas of study, the choice is up to you. The Open University currently offers over 50 science courses, ranging from short courses lasting from eight weeks to longer nine-month options. All courses are studied part-time from home giving you the flexibility to combine work with study.

Visit the science faculty website or the OU courses page to find out what opportunities are available for you.

"If you do not have a definite aim, try several interesting courses. It can be amazing what you find you are good at."
