MARCH
The students have just submitted their first Tutor Marked Assignment (TMA). By now they should have a clear focus on the title of their subject and their objectives. Those objectives should be achievable. They should know where they're coming from and where they're going, bringing their ideas into focus.
To achieve this, it's all based on their literature search. Looking at medical databases, the internet and library databases. Objectives should arise out of these searches. Although the student might have some ideas, these become crystallised within the search. So they start off with a provisional title, or idea, they do a search and their objectives become focussed through the literature review, and they're able to generate a specific research question.
Janet is looking at exercise as addiction, but we have some other interesting research topics within the course.
