1963 Born in Havant (near Portsmouth) One older brother (a rocket scientist living in Paris) and a younger sister (working in a bank in Surrey). 1968 Moved near to Godalming, Surrey. My Dad was a schoolmaster at a local boarding school, which I later joined. Nothing of note during early childhood (apart from being a little monster!) 1974 Started at my Dad's school which was quite an experience I was one of very few day pupils.. Did pretty well academically at school (until I discovered boys!!) I passed 13 O' Levels! I loved music, was quite involved with drama, but hated sport with a passion! I played the clarinet (did up to grade 8), and thought about going on to study music. But no-one gave me any career guidance, and ended up just doing A Levels in the subjects I liked (Maths, Music and English Literature). So that was no help when I had to decide what to do next in my life. I split my university applications between Maths with Music, and Nursing! But then I did really badly at my A Levels, and was left with standard nursing training (a blessing in disguise).
