Space Tourism, do we want to see tourists in space?

Is it too early for tourists in space? The Russians apparently don't think so, provided you have squillions of dollars, then space is your oyster. Maybe Virgin airlines might get involved since space touring currently is a no frills affair. However, it should be obvious that space tourism is currently very restrictive and limited to very low numbers. Planetary exploration is out of the question so what do you do in space?- just orbit the earth and look at the view - big deal! Space tourism to my mind is a very low priority there are far too many issues to be addressed on earth - from conflict in the Balkans and Middle East to the problems of the spread of exotic diseases e.g. Foot & Mouth, BSE etc. so lets forget about space tourism, if the mess that tourism and human occupation has inflicted on this planet is any indication then the universe is in for a sorry time if space tourism procedes.

I don't see why not, if there is a market and you had a craft as big as the shuttle so you could send up more than one passenger thus making a "nice" profit it could double up as a satellite deployment craft, it would save a fair amount of tax payers money when they are deploying military satellites at the same time. You pay your money you take the risk skiers do it climbers do it we all do it in our daily lives just by going to work on a bus or train that is, risks life is one big risk you only get one chance at doing it, if you've got the money do it yes.
