George Dingwall - Ikeya-Zhang

Hi There,
I watched the program, as usual, last night. Still up to it's usual high standard. I think it would be worth doing more than one program per month. I was interested to see your piece on the comet C/2002 C1 Ikeya-Zhang. I have taken a couple of pictures of it recently. I have included a couple of JPEG files as attachments. You may wish to place them in you viewers gallery or show them on the program. I would make one comment on your presentation of the comet. Your presenter said to look for it around 8pm. Where I live, (Invergordon), it is not fully dark until around 10pm at the moment. Perhaps you could remember that we don't all live around the corner from the national space centre.

Adjacent to M31, The Andromeda Galaxy. Taken using a Fuji S1 with a 105mm lens, mounted piggy back on my C8. Each exposure was guided using a 12mm illuminated guiding eyepiece. The greyscale image is a composite of 4 x 30 second exposures at F2.8 and 1600 ASA. 2135 UT on April 1 2002. There was a reasonably dark sky and both the comet and M31 were easily visible to the naked eye.

If you have any pictures to submit we would be pleased to hear from you.
