Lime factoryMessages - Programme 6

"I'm 17 and in my first year at college, whilst staying up late one night i turned on the tv and found this rough science program. it was AMAZING all the experiments that they did and how they were put together. i gazed in awe at the scientists and the way they worked. i've always enjoyed science and can understand most of the theories, but sometimes have trouble recalling them, but your program just clicked in my head and i found i could understand what they were talking about, even though it is a open university program. apparently i have a very high IQ for my age but i am dyslexic so i have trouble with short term memory, and probally more because of this your program made an impact on me, i could understand the logics but i wouldnt be able to suggest them myself. since watching it the first time, i have tried to watch all the rest, and get all my friends to watch it as well. ive even stated taping them and lending them to friends.

in summary, your program is...Inspiring, Creative, Well documented, Imaginative, and New. i think with all these factors you could bring other similar type science programs to an audience much earlier in the evening (about 20.00hrs) and it would be a success. WELL DONE."

"Have really enjoyed watching and learning from this last series of Rough Science. It is true what they say that you are never too old to learn. O.K. I am only 46, but I left school some 30 years ago !!. I just wish that the learning curve then had been made as simple and explained as clearly as you and the rest of the team have made it. Is there going to be a chance for the likes of myself to be able to "join in" with a programme, to be put in-situ with the team and assist with whatever task or experiment is being undertaken for that day? If so I would love to volunteer here and now please. Meanwhile, I look forward to the next series, keep up the good work.
Regards."

"I thought Rough science was one of the best programmes I have watched recently. Please can we have more.I sat with my 11 year old son completely enthralled by every episode. I have just found the website and look forward to exploring it."

"I've always wondered how scientists and engineers made increasingly accurate machinery. For example, how would the Rough Scientists make a truly flat surface, an accurate screw thread or constant gauge wire? With these things you can start to make the tools (eg milling machines, lathes, etc) with which more science can be performed (and lives enhanced)."

"Hi, I really like science and it has interested me for the last 20 years. The website is very good and the programmes on the tv are most entertaining."
