Parc des Buttes Chaumont

The park

One of many parks in the city, what marks Parc Des Buttes out as unique is its location, perched on the top of a rocky hill. A favourite with Parisians, at weekends the park is bustling with people taking strolls and enjoying picnics.

Monument in the park

Baron Haussmann, a landscape architect and one of the greatest of all town planners, designed the park in the 19th century. It has an artificial lake with its own island, featuring waterfalls plunging from a large, rocky cliff.

From its high vantage point there are views of the Sacré Coeur.
