About our expert
Dr Paul Gabbott studies how the brain works. Before coming to the Open University in 2003 as a Lecturer in Neuroscience, he was a Wellcome Trust Research Fellow in the University Departments of Pharmacology and Experimental Psychology at Oxford University where he investigated how emotion and cognition are integrated in the prefrontal part of the cerebral cortex. At the Open University, Paul contributes to several courses concerning the function of the nervous system in both health and disease. He hopes you've enjoyed the Lab Rats programmes and that your appetite has been whetted for 'hard' science from The Open University.
