Basic Skills

Although you don't need to have studied forensic engineering to reach a conclusion as to why the Tay Bridge collapsed, a basic understanding of the principles involved in engineering is essential in order for a proper evaluation of the evidence to be made.

This section includes interactive diagrams explaining the principles of centre of gravity and trajectory. It may be useful to refer back to these while analysing the evidence for the disaster.
