  Transit of Venus: Events
There's a large number of events taking place across the UK, giving you the chance to view the Transit of Venus in a safe, comfortable way. Locations range from a golf club car park to a Southampton shopping mall; you might meet astronomers in costume or see pigeons being released.

All events listed here are for the day of the Transit itself, 8th June 2004, unless otherwise stated. While we've taken every care compiling the list, the BBC and the Open University are not responsible for any errors or omissions. The BBC and the Open University are not responsible for the content of external websites.
