"What I do is work with deprived communities in regeneration work. I think that social sciences generally were of interest to me because I'm interested in how society works, in how people work. I'm interested, particularly, in how policies are set. And I think the DXR220 course about the Information Society, particularly, was interesting to me because it's about how society works with technology. And we've particularly been looking at how some people are losers within that information society and so those people are very much the people that I would be working with.

For me the course has been; hectic, challenging, fast paced really, very interesting, learnt a great deal. I think the best thing about the course, for me, has been going away and doing a very quick piece of research and feeling that you've got hardly any evidence at all to really slot in to the sorts of things that you're trying to prove, if you like. And then when we came to put it all together and present it, realising that actually we had achieved a great deal. It's that achievement, I think, over a very, very short space of time.
