"I enjoy education, and that's why I joined the Open University course, because I'm disabled and unable to actually travel to or from college or university at home. And I felt that the Open University gave me the opportunity to continue learning, and at my own pace.

I couldn't decide at first what course I was interested, truly, in. And then my friend and I were discussing it and she says, "Well, you like politics, you like people, you like to know about things, so here's the course for you - social science."
And I thought 'Science?'
She says 'No, it's not science and mixing chemicals and things like that,' she says, 'It's interacting with people and everything'.
And I thought 'Oh, yes.'
She says, 'And you do that well, so you should be fine at this!'
So I thought, 'Right, I'll go for it.'
