Click On is a lively, informative Open University/BBC Radio 4 series about IT, presented by Simon Cox.
In today’s Britain, over 40 per cent of us have a broadband connection, 79 per cent of UK households have at least one mobile phone, and teenagers are more likely to know the price of an mp3 player than the price of a pint of milk. We use information technology all the time: at home, in the workplace, in schools. Yet the pace of change is so rapid that even for the most avid technology-watcher, let alone the rest of us, keeping up-to-date can be tricky.
And that's where Click On comes in. Throughout the series, Simon Cox finds out how modern technology touches people's lives. Whether you've embraced technology willingly, or you’re still discovering the delights of the digital world, this series will have something for you.
Each week, Click On takes the listener behind the week’s most intriguing technology headlines – whether that’s concerns about online security, finding out about the IT needed for the London Olympics, or hearing how new technology is helping wildlife conservation. Throughout, expect an enlightening and entertaining programme keeping Radio 4 listeners up-to-date with a fast-moving industry.
