Medical Research Council (UK)
The UK Medical Research Council (MRC) is a national organisation funded by the UK taxpayer. They promote research into all areas of medical and related science with the aims of improving the health and quality of life of the UK public and contributing to the wealth of the nation.
Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute (UK)
The Sanger Institute is a genome research institute primarily funded by the Wellcome Trust. Their purpose is to further the knowledge of genomes, particularly through large-scale sequencing and analysis.
Cancer Research (UK)
Founded in 2002 after the merger of The Cancer Research Campaign and Imperial Cancer Research Fund. Today, it is the largest volunteer-funded cancer research organisation in the world. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center has for many years worked for the elimination of cancer as a cause of human suffering and death. Dr. Lee Hartwell is President and Director of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
