As part of the Africa Lives season across BBC TV and Radio, there were a large number of events throughout the UK.
Although the season and events were themed around the idea of Africa 05, at the end of 2005 the decision was taken to extend the work and build on the excitement created.
There's a website dedicated to the ongoing events, and a record of what happened in 2005, available as part of Africa Beyond.
