Victoria Beckham
Meet the presenters
Victoria Beckham was still Victoria Adams when she first shot to fame, as one fifth of the most successful all-female pop group of all time, The Spice Girls. Nicknamed Posh Spice, Victoria added her voice to the band as they cantered to numerous number ones, multi-platinum selling albums, an armful of Brit awards and even a spin-off movie. After the band came to a natural end, Victoria has continued her recording career, narrowly missing out on the number one spot with her Dane Bowers collaboration Out Of Your Mind. She published an autobiography, Learning To Fly, described by Jonathan Weir as "a glossy, fun and entertaining read."
In 1999, she married England football captain David Beckham, securing their position as the first couple of British celebrity. Their first son, Brooklyn, was born on March 4th that year; a brother, Romeo, followed on September 1st, 2002.
Being a mother gave Victoria a special perspective while working on the Mile In Their Shoes programme:
“As a mother, to see children living with these challenges every day is
heartbreaking but they continue to remain upbeat. To witness the struggles of one family first hand and spend time with them has been unforgettable. By doing this film piece I hope to raise awareness for these types of issues and help to raise money for Sport Relief, and, in turn help people like Dinah head towards a brighter future.”
